Prayer Formation
If you would like to deepen your prayer life, please consider the excellent, web-accessible Prayer Formation Program offered by Intercessors of the Lamb of Nebraska.

Prayer Womb
Prepare in your home, a place to set yourself apart from the world and your business of life.  Like Jesus in the womb of Mary, this space can be your Prayer Womb, that unique spot that you will occupy when you want to be with the Lord within the womb of Mary, spiritually.  Include a crucifix, an image of Mary - Our Lady of Guadalupe may be particularly appropriate, a candle, a place to sit and space to kneel.

Liturgy of the Hours - A School of Prayer
The prayer of the Church is the Liturgy of the Hours and it is now available and encouraged for the to the laity to participate.  We encourage you to purchase the one volume Christian Prayer and join the Monks of Adoration in their daily prayer on the web of the Liturgy of the Hours.  Page numbers and recitation are all available on the web.  Audio recitation of the the Liturgy of the Hours is also available from EWTN, though page numbers are not offered.  If you interested in adding also the Liturgy of the Readings to your prayer life, the four volume set adds this feature, but is four times more expensive as it is a four volume Christian Prayer set.  A good companion to the Liturgy of the Hours is the book,
The School of Prayer: An Introduction to the Divine Office for All Christians by John Brook.

A Teaching on the Mass
The Mass is the highest form of prayer and learning about the richness of the Mass can greatly enhance your participation.  A uniquely Catholic teaching of the Mass is available following this link.

Our Father, Who art in heaven,
Hallowed be Thy Name.
Thy Kingdom come.
Thy Will be done,
on earth as it is in Heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil. Amen.

Philippians 2:6-11

Though he was in the form of God,
Jesus did not deem equality with God
something to be grasped at.

Rather, he emptied himself
And took the form of a slave,
being born in the likeness of man.

He was known to be of human estate,
and it was thus that he humbled himself,
obediently accepting even death,
death on a cross!

Because of this,
God highly exalted him
and bestowed on him the name
above every other name,

So that at Jesus’ name
every knee must bend
in the heavens, on the earth,
and under the earth,
and every tongue proclaim
Jesus Christ is Lord
to the glory of God the Father.

A Prayer for the Victims of Killing

Psalm 142
What is written in this psalm was fulfilled in our Lord's Passion (Saint Hilary)

With all my voice I cry to the Lord,
with all my voice I entreat the Lord.
I pour out my trouble before him;
I tell him all my distress
while my spirit faints within me.
But you, O Lord, know my path.

On the way where I shall walk
they have hidden a snare to entrap me.
Look on my right and see;
there is not one who takes my part.
I have no means of escape,
not one who cares for my soul.

I cry to you, O Lord.
I have said: "You are my refuge,
all I have left in the land of the living."
Listen then to my cry
for I am in the depths of distress.

Rescue me from those who pursue me
for they are stronger than I.
Bring my soul out of this prison
and then I shall praise your name.
Around me the just will assemble
because of your goodness to me.

In Honor of Jesus in the Womb

Eternal Father,
by the imprisonment of
the infant Jesus in the womb of Mary
deliver me from the chains of sin and of hell.
And thou, Mary, Mother of God, help me!
Thou hast in thy womb the Son of God
imprisoned and confined,
as, therefore, Jesus is thy prisoner.
He will do everything that thou tell him.
Tell him to pardon me;
tell him to make me holy.
Help me, my Mother,
for the sake of the favor and honor
that Jesus Christ conferred upon thee
by dwelling within thee for nine months.  Amen.

Jesus, Son of God and Messiah in the womb of Mary Have mercy on us, O Lord. Have mercy on us.

LET US PRAY:

God, our creator, You formed us as women and men,
equal partners in the stewardship of Your world:
joined forever as sisters and brothers,
yet within each of us lives a rich diversity of different gifts,
different hopes and different limitations.
In Jesus, Your word born fully in our flesh,
You have seen and loved in us all that You have made us to be.
Though graced, we are limited and often weak.
But our weaknesses themselves are no obstacle to Your passion for us.
Teach us to see in ourselves what you have seen in each of us from birth.
Teach us to know our gifts and limits.
Keep us confidently on the path of self-knowledge,
fullness of wisdom, and joy in being Your children.
We ask this through Christ and the Holy Spirit, with You,
One God, forever and ever. Amen
